I typically find the adjacent versions, e.g, ver. 6 to 7, not that different and skip versions.

I saw some writeups on performance but tested it as a download prior to purchase and didn't see any particular problem.

Stitching capability is nice and I've been using some other features to restore/recolor and 1818 map. The scanned file size is 380 meg, which I would think would expose any significant performance issues.

Last time I checked Amazon still had these in stock. However, being it's a bestseller it may not be in stock long. If that's the case you will have to wait to get... and waiting sucks!
